Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is H2O2U Mobile Hydration Services?

H2O2U is a mobile IV therapy service delivering vitamin drip treatments in Baltimore City and the surrounding counties. Fully staffed by Registered Nurses, our teams provide treatment in your home for individuals or groups.

What is IV hydration & why are vitamins and antioxidants important?

IV therapy is a method to quickly administer fluids, vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb 100% of the vitamins. Loaded with specially-tailored combinations of essential fluids, electrolytes, vitamins and antioxidants, our services are meant to act as supplements and not to replace oral hydration. Our bodies need a consistent amount of vitamins and minerals to promote homeostasis and optimal health. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term conditions. Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system, detoxifying your body and removing free radicals that can contribute to cellular damage. Antioxidants also play a role in energy production.

Is IV hydration safe?

All of our vitamins are FDA approved and go through high levels of testing. All IVs are administered by a registered nurse and performed under a medical director. Before a client receives IV therapy, their health history is evaluated. Side effects from an IV hydration are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.

What are the benefits of IV therapy?

IV therapy is one of the most effective ways to deliver nutrients, vitamins, and fluids to your body, and is more efficient than oral supplements. This technique bypasses your digestive system and is administered directly into your bloodstream. Your body is able to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients and fluids since nothing is lost as a result of the digestive process.

Who should receive IV hydration?

Generally speaking, most people can benefit from IV therapy services. IV therapy can help improve overall health and well-being, boost energy levels, aid in illness and post-operative recovery, and address a variety of specific health targets & goals. Therapy will not be administered to those under the age of 18 or pregnant persons.

How are the drips administered?

Administered by Registered Nurses, supervised by an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Intravenous (IV) fluid drips deliver saline solution through a small catheter and tubing directly into the bloodstream. This solution usually includes medications and vitamin supplements that are tailored to the individual patient. During therapy, the nurse inserts an IV line which is attached to a bag of saline solution. The bag is then hung above the patient’s head. IV therapy bags are designed to let gravity, as opposed to a syringe or other forced technique, carry fluid into the veins over time. The duration of a single treatment varies from person to person, but typically lasts 45-90 minutes.

How often can I receive an infusion?

Everyone’s needs are different. Our nurses will consult with you and make a recommendation as to how often you can get IV treatments based on your health history and individual needs.
